Clock Spring Removal & Refitting
How to remove and replace the clock spring on a 2002 to 2009 Volkswagen Polo Mark 4 (9N). You will need to remove the steering wheel and airbag to access the clock spring. WARNING: Attempt this fix at your own risk. Working on or near the airbag unit could be very dangerous so use extreme caution !. Disconnect the battery at least 5 minutes before you begin, to disable the airbag system, and leave it disconnected until the work is fully completed. After you disconnect the airbag connectors, do NOT probe the airbag terminals or connectors with a test meter as this could risk triggering the airbag. If you are in any doubt, take the car to a Volkswagen specialist or garage and have a fully qualified mechanic carry out the procedure. Thanks for watching. Please comment, like and subscribe !.

Brake Caliper Slider Pin Grease - Which is Best ?

    Good day. What temperature should the oil applied to the brake caliper pins be resistant to? Can lithium soap based grease be used? I would appreciate it if you could help me with the caliper pins.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts 17 годин тому

      Ideally you want the grease to be able to withstand temperature above 200 degrees Celsius (392 fahrenheit). Lithium grease is petroleum based so it is not suitable for use with rubber components, like the caliper pin boots.

      Sometimes the boots are a very tight fit in the caliper bracket and could trap the grease, but most of them have enough space for the pin and grease to fit in through the boot.

    I've always disliked multiple ground strap plugs. You can't create multiple sparks at one time. They simply wanna sell you some they're gonna convince you that you need. I went to try the e3 plugs one time. And right away noticed they're non adjustable as far as gap goes. I needed a .035 gap for my C/20. I ran em and noticed at high rpm I'd have an odd misfire feel. I took em out, and used a dremel to cut 2 of the 3 ground straps off. With that outta the way I measured the gap. .045! Huge gap, no wonder the misfire. With the remaining ground strap I adjusted it down to .035. And they ran very well after that mod. Lotta money for plugs I gotta fix myself in my opinion. Standard plugs are the best you'll get out there.

    Grease is Grease; unless you prefer hog lard....just select a lubricant that's NOT going to rot away the rubber grease caps that the caliper bolt runs through. Grease your slide pins WITH the grease caps attached at top of bolt and THEN reassemble......

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts 6 днів тому

      The window is opened to make it easier to hook the top of the door cover into the frame when you're refitting it. You should be able to remove it with the window up. As for the dent, depending on where, and how bad it is, you may be able to push it back out but yes, you will have to be very careful not to put pressure on the glass.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts

      If you put the end of the tube into the top of the plastic bottle and quickly tap it side to side against the bottle it should work its way down and out of the tube. You could also tap the open end of the full tube repeatedy (with rubber glove on) which should draw the fluid out.
